VIDEO PRODUCTION PLANNING

We can provide a full corporate video production service from scripting & script approval, to shoot, edit and the latest in post production.

Four main phases in a video production:

  1. Pre-Production:
    research, scriptwriting, planning, casting
  2. The Shoot:
when the video crew, presenters and actors are on site and any computer animation production is in hand
  3. Post-Production:
grading the shots, the first edit (the rough cut), voiceover recording, titling, graphics, compositing, and the final edit (fine cut or online).
  4. Replication and Delivery Rollout:
copying the video as VHS, CD, DVD or webstream or download, plus cover design, packaging and distribution.

Basic questions before starting your video production

  • Who the video is for
  • What it has to tell them
  • What are the key issues
  • Where/how it will be shown
  • Roughly how long it should be
  • Whether you will need foreign language versions
  • When you need it delivering

Our video production proposal will generally contain:

  • A full explanation of the creative ideas, probably in the form of an outline or "treatment"
  • A detailed breakdown of the budget
  • An outline schedule
  • A face-to-face meeting with the producer, not just the salesman

Phase 1: Video - Pre-Production

The Initial Meeting - Schedule and Content
A detailed schedule for the production, including deadlines for approval of the script and storyboard, pre-production meetings, shoot dates, dates for viewing the rough cut and fine cut, completion and final delivery rollout. Script Approval
The script is the engine that drives your video. It tells the story and ties the pictures together. Usually the script is mostly words - such as voiceover narration, a Presenter, and dialogue for any actors - with only a sketchy idea of the visual content.

Storyboard
The storyboard is the script, plus a full description of the visual content, plus a list of everything that will be required. It's a complete map of the video, a master document that you and the production team can refer to. Shoot list & Schedule
The shoot list, lets everyone - managers, video director, camera crew, performers - know what's happening and when.
